Feedback is now emerging on our Sustainability and Transformation Plans and associated Local Digital Roadmap submissions and we now need to galvanise our teams into further action to deliver the digital future.

To make the best use of the £1.8bn which the NHS has set aside, we must ensure we improve digital capabilities across the health and care sector and provide staff, patients and the population with the best, most convenient and most appropriate technologies to improve health and wellbeing

This event will focus on common themes emerging from the Local Digital Roadmaps being developed in the region, and will showcase suppliers, services, technologies and products that could offer support in such areas as:

  • Clinician-to-Clinician communication

  • Mobile apps and devices to support clinicians in delivery of care

  • Mobile working, connectivity and cloud solutions

  • Person-centred technologies supporting self-care, including personalised health records and citizen digital health

  • Population health analytics and real-time clinical decision support.

The event will include:

  • Keynote speakers – Deborah El-Sayed, NHSE Director of Digital Media and leader of the Urgent and Emergency Care NIB

  • Panel Discussion – ‘how can we best move our local digital roadmaps forward?”

  • Workshops including;

  1. Code4 Health – Open Source Opportunities and examples
  2. Information Governance Alliance – the rules for using information in health and care
  3. Personal Health Records with the Southampton University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and national leads
  4. Big Data and Population Health Analytics with Wessex AHSN
  • 40 plus exhibitors

  • Opportunities for one-to-one meetings and group discussions with suppliers

  • Advice and guidance from national NHS Procurement Leads, IG specialists, National Information Board and Code4Health experts.

The West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) brings together all the key players innovating health and care in our region.

We are one of 15 AHSNs across the country, established by NHS England in 2013. Here in the West of England, our AHSN has earned a reputation for its ambitious, joined-up vision for healthcare innovation and transformation.

Since our launch, our priority has been to work across organisational and geographical boundaries, involving our entire network in both development and delivery to drive transformation that is based on genuine need, is successfully embedded and sustainable.

With our unique expertise and cross-sector connections, we understand both the ‘push and pull’ of demand on healthcare innovation. We actively nurture an innovation ecosystem around health and care, removing obstacles and bringing diverse groups together to conceive and maximise new ways of working.
